Martin studied international relations at the Prague University of Economics and Business before beginning a six-year career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. During this time, he spent three years at the Czech Embassy in Singapore, serving as Deputy Head of Mission. His connection with Singapore has remained strong ever since, and for the past 24 years he has served as Honorary Consul General of Singapore in the Czech Republic. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded Singapore’s prestigious Public Service Star in 2017.

In 2001, he joined the management of the family-owned Royal Spa group of companies. Following the death of his father, Antonín, in 2016, he assumed full leadership of the group. Under his stewardship, the Royal Spa brand has grown to encompass medical spas and resorts in Luhačovice, Mariánské Lázně, Velké Losiny and Ostrožská Nová Ves in the Czech Republic, as well as a wellness resort in Bad Hofgastein, Austria.

Alongside his business activities, he has played a prominent role in the spa and wellness sector at both national and European levels. For many years, he has served as Vice-President of the Czech Medical Spas Association and the European Spas Association. Between 2012 and 2016, he served as President of the European Spas Association, helping to advance the profile and interests of the industry across Europe.

He has also contributed to public service and government. From 2009 to 2010, he served in the Czech interim government as First Deputy Minister for Regional Development, bringing his experience in business, tourism and regional development to national policymaking.
